Bhubaneswar, April 27 -- In a unique conservation and educational initiative, the skeletal remains of elephant 'Ramu' are being reconstructed and prepared for public display at Godibari Nature Camp on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, official sources said on Monday.
The effort is expected to give the deceased adult elephant a renewed identity while offering valuable insights into wildlife preservation.
The skeletal remains of Ramu were recovered from the Chandaka-Dampara wildlife sanctuary in December last year. Forest officials had found nearly 250 pieces of bones, which are now being carefully assembled to recreate the elephant's full body structure.
