Bhubaneswar, Sept. 2 -- The traditional 'Rahurekha Lagi' ritual will be observed at Lord Jagannath Temple in Odisha's Puri on Wednesday on the Panchami Tithi of Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha. As part of the special ritual, golden Rahurekhas will be placed on the faces of Sri Balabhadra, Sri Jagannath and Devi Subhadra.

The ritual will begin after the Gopalaballav Bhog, when the Rahurekhas will be brought out from the Bhandar Ghar and cleaned and polished by the Bania servitors.

Following this, the Daitapati servitors will climb onto the Singhasana and collect the Sri Anga Mani. The Rahurekhas of the three deities will then be purified as part of the ritual.
