Bhubaneswar, April 29 -- The Orissa High Court has imposed a cost of Rs 10,000 on a litigant for repeatedly filing a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking to change the spelling of Cuttack to "Katak". The Court dismissed the plea, observing that the issue had already been settled and fell within the exclusive domain of the government.
The petitioner had approached the Court once again seeking directions to alter the spelling of the city's name, despite earlier petitions on the same issue being rejected. The court noted that such repeated filings on identical grounds are not maintainable.
