India, Sept. 17 -- Allegations of alleged high-handedness by the husband of a sarpanch have surfaced in Bethiapada village under Bishamakatak block of Odisha's Rayagada district.

Villagers have alleged that the sarpanch's husband has been interfering in various panchayat affairs, from dismantling a LAMPS building and selling its materials to allegedly taking control of ponds and embankments.

The villagers reportedly approached the Bishamakatak BDO and later submitted a written complaint to the Gunupur Sub-Collector, seeking an impartial inquiry into the alleged irregularities.
