Bhubaneswar, Sept. 21 -- East Coast Railway has intensified its efforts to curb the illegal transportation of narcotics and other prohibited substances under Operation Narcos. Trained sniffer dogs are being deployed to search trains, platforms and areas where luggage and parcels are kept.

According to reports, the railway has inducted 18 new dogs, including 15 specially trained narcotics detection dogs. With the latest addition, the East Coast Railway's total number of sniffer dogs has increased to 33, of which 20 are specifically deployed for detecting narcotics.
