Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29 -- Following the reported dog-bite incident involving a couple at Patiala in Punjab, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das on Friday has warned pet owners to take proper responsibility for their dogs.

The Mayor said keeping a pet dog is a personal choice, but owners must ensure that their animals do not create problems for other people. She said action would be taken as per the law if a pet causes trouble or becomes a threat to others.

"We have no objection if someone keeps a tiger or a bear at home. But if it causes any inconvenience to anyone, action will be taken as per the law," Das said.
