Bhubaneswar, Aug. 5 -- A 12-km journey became unavoidable for an elderly couple from Odisha's Rayagada district after they were unable to receive four months of their social security pension due to a bank account-related issue.

Kalia Palakia, a resident of Gaudabaliyodi village under Muniguda block, has been allegedly deprived of his social security pension for the past four months. Hoping to resolve the matter, he travelled to the Muniguda Block office along with his wife to find out why the payments had stopped.
