Hong Kong, Oct. 9 -- Air Niugini said it has increased passenger and cargo capacity on its services to Buka after Ok Tedi Energy, a subsidiary of Ok Tedi Mining Limited, established a Jet A-1 aviation fuel refueling facility at Buka Airport. Read More The new facility began operations with its first Jet A-1 refueling on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, when Air Niugini's Fokker 100, P2-ANH, became the first aircraft to refuel at Buka. "The availability of Jet A-1 fuel at Buka is a significant operational benefit for Air Niugini and our customers. It enables us to utilize our aircraft more efficiently and carry additional passengers, baggage and cargo to and from Buka," Air Niugini CEO Alan Milne said.
