Norway's Seafood Exports Hit Record NOK 16 Billion in August
India, Sept. 3 -- Norway's seafood exports reached a record NOK 16 billion in August 2026, rising by NOK 1.9 billion, or 14 per cent, compared with the same month last year, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
The strong performance came despite a significantly stronger Norwegian krone, with higher salmon volumes and prices, along with price increases for cod, mackerel, herring and saithe, supporting export value.
"Despite the Norwegian krone being significantly stronger than in the same month last year, the value of seafood exports in August reached a historic high," said Christian Chramer, CEO, Norwegian Seafood Council.
