Guwahati, Oct. 16 -- The Gauhati High Court on Friday granted bail to Sandipan Garg, cousin of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, in the case related to the singer's death in Singapore.

Sandipan, a suspended Assam Police officer, has been held at Baksa jail since October 2025. He is one of seven accused in the case and faces a charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Sandipan was part of Zubeen's Singapore trip in September 2025 and joined the yacht excursion during which the singer died in the sea.

The High Court heard Sandipan's bail application over the past week, but the proceedings remained unresolved on Wednesday.
