Guwahati, Oct. 9 -- The Gauhati High Court on Friday granted bail to Amritprabha Mahanta, one of the seven accused in connection with Assamese singer Zubeen Garg's death.

The court reserved its order after concluding the hearing on Mahanta's bail plea on Wednesday, following several days of arguments.

Mahanta was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on October 2 last year and is currently lodged in Haflong Jail.

She is the first accused in the main investigation into Garg's death to secure bail. Earlier, two personal security officers (PSOs) attached to the singer had obtained bail in a separate case concerning alleged financial transactions.
