Guwahati, April 23 -- A fast-track court on April 23 said it will deliver its decision on the bail plea of Shyamkanu Mahanta on April 30 in the case linked to the death of Assam's singer Zubeen Garg.

The hearing on Mahanta's bail request has been completed after arguments from his lawyers, Pran Bora and Rajdeep Banerjee. The court has been taking up the matter regularly over the past few days.

A separate bail plea has also been filed for co-accused Siddharth Sharma. The court had earlier not taken it up due to problems in the affidavit, which are now being addressed.

Special Public Prosecutor Ziaul Kamar has filed written submissions opposing bail for both accused.
