Tripura's Infant Mortality Rate half of national average: CM

Agartala: Tripura has recorded an Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) of 12 in 2024 against the national average of 24, Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Wednesday, citing the latest Sample Registration System (SRS) Bulletin released by the Registrar General of India.
In a post on social media, the Chief Minister said the state has registered a steady decline in IMR over the last three years.
According to the figures shared by Saha, Tripura's IMR declined from 17 in 2022 to 15 in 2023 and further to 12 in 2024. The corresponding national IMR figures were 26 in 2022, 25 in 2023, and 24 in 2024.
