Agartala: A court in Tripura on Monday granted bail to Kunal Ghosh, senior leader of the All India Trinamool Congress and newly elected MLA in West Bengal, in connection with a case registered against him in 2021.
The bail order was issued by the Gomati district and sessions court.
After the hearing, Ghosh briefly told reporters that the court had accepted his bail application in the case filed against him.
According to his lawyer, the matter stems from a public gathering addressed by Ghosh in Agartala on October 31, 2021.
The complaint alleged that a section of his speech had offended religious sentiments, leading to the registration of the case.
