Tripura: Flooding damages 115 houses, 974 people moved to relief camps
Agartala, Aug. 23 -- Heavy rainfall triggered flooding in several parts of Tripura on Sunday, damaging 115 houses and forcing 974 people from 280 families to move into 11 relief camps, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre's daily situation report.
Of the affected houses, 113 suffered partial damage while two were severely damaged. No houses were reported completely destroyed. The report also recorded no deaths or injuries and said there was no reported damage to electricity poles or school buildings.
Jirania, Sadar, Teliamura and Khowai were among the areas affected by the flooding.
