Agartala, Aug. 20 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out searches at the residence and business premises of Agartala-based trader Shahjahan Miah as part of an inquiry into suspected financial irregularities, according to sources.

ED officials reached Miah's residence in the Western Club area along Akhaura Road early in the morning and questioned him. A separate team conducted a search at his shop in Battala Fitting Market.

Central security personnel were deployed at both locations during the operation, with security forces assisting the ED teams.
