Agartala: Assam Rifles, working jointly with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Tripura Police, seized 12.26 lakh Yaba tablets estimated to be worth Rs 98.08 crore in two separate operations across Khowai and North Tripura districts, officials said on Wednesday.

The operations were carried out on the night of September 15 following intelligence inputs received from the Assam Rifles Intelligence and Field Intelligence Unit (ARFIU) and other sources, according to an Assam Rifles statement.

In the first operation, Assam Rifles and the DRI intercepted a consignment at Khowai Choawmani in Teliamura, recovering 7.26 lakh Yaba tablets valued at around Rs 58.08 crore.
