Agartala, April 12 -- In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), seized a large consignment of Yaba tablets worth approximately Rs 16 crore in Tripura on Saturday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the joint operation was carried out in the Teliamura area under Khowai district. Security personnel intercepted a Mahindra pick-up vehicle bearing registration number TR01AY-1674 and conducted a thorough search.
Officials said around 2 lakh Yaba tablets-a synthetic drug widely trafficked across the Northeast, were recovered from the vehicle.
