Supreme Court quashes FIRs against NEET student protesters across the country
Guwahati, Sept. 1 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday quashed all FIRs registered against students who participated in protests over the NEET-UG paper leak, exercising its extraordinary powers under Article 142 of the Constitution.
The order followed applications moved by Delhi Police and the governments of Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar and West Bengal seeking the quashing of cases against protesters. The Bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, said it was invoking Article 142 in view of the future of students who had participated in the protests.
