Guwahati, July 23 -- Climate activist and educationist Sonam Wangchuk on Friday ended his 26-day indefinite hunger strike after meeting Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, where he had been admitted after his health deteriorated.

According to reports, the two Union Ministers met Wangchuk after holding discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Wangchuk formally ended his fast in the presence of the Ministers and his wife, Gitanjali Angmo.

Visuals from the hospital showed Wangchuk taking his first sip from a cup with the assistance of Nadda and Singh.
