Guwahati, May 3 -- After being put on hold since the COVID-19 pandemic, border trade through Sikkim's historic Nathula Pass is anticipated to resume in June 2026, according to Rajya Sabha MP D. T. Lepcha.
In order to help traders and border villages who depend on the Indo-China trade route, he stated trade operations will resume from the current trade center.
Lepcha added that between June and August of this year, the Ministry of External Affairs will recommence the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Nathula Pass.
The strategically important border region of East Sikkim is expected to see an increase in local business and economic activity as a result of the restoration of trade at Nathula Pass.
