Guwahati, July 23 -- Heavy security remained in place at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Wednesday as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continued its protest, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged paper leak controversy.

A large contingent of Delhi Police personnel was deployed across the protest site to maintain law and order amid heightened tensions.

The developments came as fresh violence broke out in Connaught Place on Wednesday evening. According to Delhi Police, a group of unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked police personnel with stones and bottles near Tolstoy Marg around 8:30 pm, injuring ACP Connaught Place Vivek Bhagat.
