New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- Renowned political scientist, academic and human rights activist Kamal Mitra Chenoy passed away in Delhi on Saturday. He was 75.

Born on December 3, 1950, Chenoy served as a professor at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He was widely recognised for his sharp analytical insights into political theory, Indian politics, international relations and human rights issues.

He served as a professor and chair of the Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory at JNU's School of International Studies. During his early years at the university, he was actively involved in student politics and served as vice-president of the JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) from 1978 to 1979....
