Guwahati, Aug. 26 -- A vehicle owned by an Assam Police personnel was allegedly set ablaze near the Upper Lampi Battalion Border Out Post in Boko on Tuesday, raising fresh concern along the Assam-Meghalaya border.

The Maruti Alto belonged to Havildar Arbinda Roy of the 28th Battalion and was left outside the camp because the approach road was in poor condition, according to sources.

Police are investigating the possibility that someone deliberately started the fire. The exact cause has not been determined, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether the incident amounts to arson.
