Guwahati, Aug. 28 -- Penguin Random House India (PRHI) has withdrawn from publishing Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's forthcoming memoir Belonging: A Journey of Love in India following a disagreement over proposed editorial changes to the manuscript.

Sources said PRHI had sought certain "editorial changes and deletions" in a part of the manuscript, which were turned down by Gandhi.

With PRHI out of the project, several Indian publishers are reportedly in the fray. HarperCollins India is said to be close to finalising an agreement to publish and distribute the memoir in India.
