Shillong, July 20 -- Professor Jyoti J. Mozika of the Department of Law, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of National Law University (NLU), Meghalaya. She is expected to assume office in August.

The Vice-Chancellor's post had remained vacant since the retirement of the university's founding Vice-Chancellor, Professor Indrajit Dube, in February.

During the intervening period, Founding Registrar Kerpa Meida Lyngdoh Nongbri served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor.
