Agartala, July 29 -- National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar arrived in Tripura on Tuesday on a three-day visit during which she will attend awareness programmes, review meetings and inspect key institutions related to women's welfare.

Tripura Commission for Women (TCW) Chairperson Jharna Debbarma told a press conference that Rahatkar will visit Udaipur on Wednesday to participate in the Gomati Zilla Parishad's "She Serves" programme. She will also inspect the One Stop Centre and attend an awareness programme on child marriage and its social impact at Rajarshi Hall.

State Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy and MLA Abhishek Debroy are scheduled to attend the event.
