India, March 11 -- Nagaland has registered 48,655 enterprises on the Udyam portal as of March 9, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio told the Assembly on Tuesday, underlining the steady growth of the state's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector.
Of the total, 48,464 units fall in the micro category, most of them nano enterprises with an annual turnover of less than Rs 25 lakh. The remaining include 175 small enterprises and 16 medium enterprises.
Replying to a discussion on the role of MSMEs in strengthening Nagaland's economy on the fourth day of the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima, Rio highlighted several initiatives aimed at expanding enterprise activity in the state.
