Dimapur, July 3 -- Nagaland got its first Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Dimapur on Friday, easing Aadhaar enrolment, update and correction services for the residents.

The centre was inaugurated by adviser to tribal affairs and election H Tovihoto Ayemi at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, as the special guest.

In his inaugural address, Ayemi said Aadhaar is an essential identity document for every citizen, particularly children, who are required to undergo mandatory biometric updates (MBU) at the ages of five and 15, and indispensable for school admissions, scholarships, entrance examinations and access to various government services.
