India, March 26 -- The Nagaland government has declared April 9, the day of polling for the byelection to the Koridang Assembly constituency in Mokokchung district, as a paid holiday for electors in the constituency who are employed in government offices, banks, financial institutions, private business establishments, industrial undertakings, or any other establishments, including daily wage and casual workers, to enable them to exercise their franchise.
In a notification issued on Wednesday, the provision also includes electors in the constituency who may be working on a shift basis in any establishment or shop.
