Dimapur: The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch, observed World Red Cross Day with a walkathon on the theme "Walk for Humanity" in Kohima on Friday.
Volunteers, officials, students, youth, and members of the public participated in the event, which commenced at the Red Cross Complex and culminated at Old NST.
Kohima Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem, who is also the president of the IRCS Kohima branch, flagged off the walkathon.
The occasion featured warm-up sessions conducted by the Nagaland Fitness and Body Building Association.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Tseilhoutuo Rhutso highlighted the significance of humanity and compassion in today's conflict-ridden world.
