Dimapur, Sept. 25 -- Following the outbreak of measles cases in Tizit block under Mon district, the Nagaland Health and Family Department has intensified efforts to contain the disease through enhanced surveillance, vaccination, public awareness and interdepartmental coordination.

The department, led by Mon chief medical officer Supongmenla Walling and district programme manager Moie Bonnie Konyak, held a block-level meeting at the Community Health Centre, Tizit, to review the current status of the outbreak, according to an official report on Friday.

It was decided to conduct a measles vaccination drive from October 12, with awareness activities to be undertaken in advance.
