Dimapur, Aug. 19 -- A major landslide struck National Highway 702A at New Colony in Zunheboto on Wednesday morning, disrupting traffic along the key highway stretch and raising safety concerns among local residents.

Three houses located near the landslide site had been evacuated as a precaution before the situation worsened. The houses were subsequently completely damaged by the landslide, but the timely evacuation helped avert any casualties.

A nearby building has also reportedly developed visible cracks following the incident, prompting concerns over the stability of other structures in the affected area.
