Guwahati, July 20 -- The Nagaland government on July 19 announced a package of relief measures after the devastating landslide in Mon town left several people dead and caused extensive damage to homes, public infrastructure and other properties. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio declared an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased victim.

In an official statement, the government conveyed its deep sorrow over the tragedy, which occurred at around 6:30 am, and expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. It also wished a swift recovery to those injured in the incident.
