Dimapur, Sept. 25 -- The Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR) on Thursday flagged its key challenges, including inadequate infrastructure and facilities for children requiring care and protection, particularly children with mental health concerns, substance abuse issues and disabilities, in the state.

The commission raised these issues at a review meeting of its functioning called by Governor Nand Kishore Yadav at Lok Bhavan in Kohima, calling for additional members and regular staff, as well as enhanced grant-in-aid to effectively implement its functions and activities.

During the meeting, the commission presented an overview of its activities and initiatives undertaken from 2023 to date.
