Dimapur: Nagaland's Akashvani Kohima organised the 'Akashvani Marathon' in Kohima on Friday as part of the nationwide celebration marking 90 years of broadcasting in India.

The marathon, which began at the Old MLA Hostel junction and concluded at the High School junction, was organised to promote fitness, public participation, and national unity in line with the vision of a healthy and active India.

Kohima Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem flagged off the marathon.

Speaking on the occasion, Buchem said the event symbolised a marathon of voices, music, news, and stories that have reached millions of people through broadcasting over the decades.
