Mizoram's three autonomous district councils face Rs 159.59 crore salary shortfall
Aizawl, Oct. 7 -- The three Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) in Mizoram are facing a combined salary shortfall of Rs 159.59 crore, allegedly due to inadequate fund allocation and a system of parallel administration, a leader said.
The Chief Executive Members (CEMs) of the Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC), Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) made the statement at a press conference here, where they appealed to the state government and Governor to intervene and ensure adequate funding for the councils.
According to MADC CEM M. Laikaw, the salary deficit currently stands at Rs 25.88 crore for MADC, Rs 69.93 crore for LADC and Rs 63.78 crore for CADC.
