India, March 6 -- Mizoram recorded a tourist footfall of 12.68 lakh over the past two years, reflecting a sharp rise in visitor arrivals and growing interest in the state as a travel destination, Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar informed the Assembly on Friday.
Responding to a question from Mizo National Front (MNF) legislator and Leader of the Opposition Lalchhandama Ralte, the Minister said 12,68,624 tourists, including 16,898 foreign nationals, visited Mizoram between 2024 and 2025.
According to the data presented in the House, the state welcomed 4,27,302 tourists in 2024, while the figure rose sharply to 8,41,322 in 2025, registering a year-on-year growth of nearly 97%.
