Guwahati, July 2 -- Mizoram Health Minister Lalrinpuii on Wednesday said the state has emerged as one of the country's leading performers in the implementation of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme and expressed confidence that it can soon secure the top position.

Speaking at the launch of the National Immunisation Day (NID) Pulse Polio programme in Aizawl, the Minister said Mizoram's relatively small population of around 16 lakh enables the government to deliver quality healthcare services more effectively. At the same time, she noted that the public's high expectations make it imperative for the state to sustain and improve its healthcare achievements.
