Aizawl, July 11 -- Mizoram Police seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances worth more than Rs 414.66 crore and arrested 312 people, including 57 foreign nationals, during a major crackdown on drug trafficking in the first six months of this year.

According to a statement issued by the Mizoram Police Media Cell on Friday, police registered 219 cases under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act between January 1 and June 30.

Methamphetamine accounted for the largest seizure, with 315.903 kg of the contraband, valued at Rs 252.72 crore, recovered in 38 cases.

The operations led to the arrest of 62 people, including 16 foreign nationals.
