Aizawl, April 16 -- Mizoram on April 16 formally launched the house listing and housing census operations, marking the beginning of the first phase of the country's digital census exercise in the state.

With the launch, Mizoram joined the nationwide rollout of the census process, which is scheduled to continue until May 15.

The programme was inaugurated by Governor Vijay Kumar Singh at Lok Bhavan, where he underscored the importance of accuracy and inclusiveness in the exercise. Addressing officials, he called for dedication and sincerity in carrying out the enumeration and directed field staff to ensure that no household is left out.
