Aizawl, Aug. 28 -- The Mizoram government has issued 4,94,033 Inner Line Permits (ILPs) since 2024, including 2,15,946 permits between September 2025 and July 2026 after the opening of the Bairabi-Sairang railway line, a minister told the state Assembly on Thursday.

In a written reply, Home Minister K. Sapdanga said 13,730 non-tribal people from outside Mizoram are currently residing and working in the state with valid permits.

The government has also intensified action against people entering Mizoram without valid permits, Sapdanga said.

At least 934 people who entered the state without ILPs or valid travel permits have been apprehended this year, he said.
