Aizawl: Mizoram Health Minister Lalrinpuii on Friday expressed the need for further development of neurosurgery services in the state.

Speaking at a function coinciding with the presentation of Rs 62.38 lakh worth of critical care equipment and an Advanced Life Support Ambulance to Zoram Medical College & Hospital (ZMC&H) by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Lalrinpuii addressed the gathering.

She said the absence of a dedicated neurosurgery unit continues to place a heavy burden on patients and their families, many of whom are forced to seek costly treatment outside the state.
