Aizawl, Sept. 19 -- Mizoram Education Minister Vanlalthlana has urged the Centre to frame education policies keeping in view the distinct geographical and socio-economic conditions of northeastern states, an official statement here said on Friday.

Addressing the North East Education Conclave 2026 in Nagaland's Chumoukedima district, Vanlalthlana said that several challenges faced by the region cannot be addressed by applying the uniform approach followed for larger states.

He spoke about Mizoram's progress in the education sector and the challenges in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
