Aizawl, July 3 -- Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday called for collective efforts to combat corruption, saying the challenge cannot be tackled by a single agency and requires the participation of both citizens and government employees.

Speaking at the release of the first annual report of the state's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Lalduhoma described corruption as a major impediment to good governance and the overall development of the state.

He said the government had strengthened both the ACB and the Mizoram Lokayukta to enhance the state's anti-corruption framework and expressed hope that the two institutions would continue to build their professional capabilities.
