Aizawl, April 18 -- The ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) has launched a scathing attack on the previous Mizo National Front (MNF)-led Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC), accusing it of unnecessary and wasteful expenditure amounting to Rs 4.92 crore at the Tuirial Solid Waste Management Center near Aizawl.

The allegations came ahead of the AMC polls slated for April 21.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference here on Friday, former corporator Malsawmzuala Ralte said that the Tuirial facility was completed in December 2019 by the State Investment Project Management and Implementation Unit (SIPMIU) at a cost of Rs 13.32 crore, adhering strictly to the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
