Aizawl, Oct. 8 -- Mizoram has inaugurated a new de-addiction and rehabilitation centre at Sethawn in Kolasib district, with Social Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii calling for stronger cooperation between churches and the government to tackle the state's drug problem.

The Jordan Centre has been entrusted to the Mizoram Synod for 15 years under a memorandum of understanding signed with the state government in March this year. The facility was formally inaugurated and dedicated to God at a function on Tuesday.

The event was attended by Social Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii and Mizoram Synod Moderator Rev John Raldosanga.
