Aizawl, Sept. 15 -- The Mizo National Front (MNF) will defer its next organisational election until after the 2028 Mizoram Assembly polls, party president Zoramthanga said on Monday, while announcing a reshuffle of the party's senior leadership.

Addressing party workers at a political session in Aizawl, Zoramthanga said the decision was consistent with the MNF's practice of conducting organisational elections after Assembly elections rather than immediately before them.

Although the party's organisational election is due next year, it will instead be held after the 2028 Assembly polls, he said.
