Aizawl, Oct. 6 -- The legal board of the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) on Monday lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Mizoram over the alleged creation and circulation of a "forged and false" video purportedly featuring party president and former chief minister Zoramthanga.

The complaint, filed by MNF Legal Board secretary David R Lalsawmtluanga, alleged that the video had been digitally manipulated to make it appear that Zoramthanga was promising annual financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh to poor people if the MNF returned to power in the 2028 Assembly elections.

According to the complaint, the video has been widely circulated on social media and carries captions mocking the alleged promise.
