Aizawl, Aug. 18 -- Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Monday called the Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP), the state's apex women's organisation, and other voluntary groups "key pillars of society", highlighting their role in shaping younger generations and strengthening social institutions.

Lalduhoma made the remarks while laying the foundation stone for a new MHIP building at Treasury Square in Aizawl.

He said voluntary organisations such as MHIP serve as important institutions by addressing social concerns and guiding young people in areas that often extend beyond the reach of government agencies.
